Q:  "How often should I pump my septic tank?"

A:  Modern Septic Systems are more sophisticated than systems installed 20 years ago. A modern system is a significant financial investment for any home or business so to keep it healthy as long as possible, regular annual maintenance is essential. Modern systems have multiple tanks or compartments, each requiring distinct care. Best practice is to skim & service annually while emptying every 2 years (depending on factors such as usage).
